Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Ussila Team (“Ussila”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Ussila mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

Ussila is a beauty companion for organizing a lipstick collection—capture and input lipstick details (images, brands, shades, prices), compare items, and save favorites so you can keep track of your collection.

Age 17+. The Service is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.

1) Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information we collect automatically, and (c) information we collect when you grant permissions.

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, username, email address.
  • Customer support content: what you include when you contact support (e.g., messages and attachments you choose to provide).
  • Collection content: lipstick details you enter (brand, shade, price, notes) and images you add to your collection.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device information: device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, and device identifiers as permitted by the OS.
  • Usage data: feature usage, in-app actions, performance metrics.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics: error reports and crash data to improve stability.

1.3 Location (Only With Your Permission)

If you allow location access, we may collect approximate or precise location information depending on the permission you grant. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

1.4 Photos / Camera / Face Data (No Facial Recognition)

The Service may request access to your photos or camera so you can attach images to lipstick entries.

  • We do not perform facial recognition and do not collect biometric identifiers.
  • We do not create face templates or similar identifiers.
  • Images are used only for the purposes described in this policy and are not used for advertising/marketing profiling.
  • Default local storage: by default, your collection images/content are stored locally on your device. If you choose to use features that require uploading (for example, automated processing or optional sync/backup features if available), uploads are handled as described in this policy.

1.5 Cookies and Similar Technologies (Web-Related Use)

If any part of the Service is accessed via a web page or embedded web view, we may use cookies or similar technologies (and may include web beacons) for login/session management and storing preferences. Where applicable, you can manage cookies through your browser settings.

2) How We Use Information

  • Provide and maintain the Service (accounts, login, core features).
  • Personalize your experience (preferences and settings).
  • Improve the Service (analytics, debugging, feature improvements).
  • Security and fraud prevention; enforce terms and policies.

3) Automated Processing (Including Optional Image/Text Processing)

  • Processing location: uploads are processed on servers controlled by us (our own infrastructure).
  • No third-party sharing for processing: we do not share uploaded images/text with third parties for these processing purposes.
  • Deletion after processing: uploads are deleted promptly after processing is complete, unless you choose to store the resulting content in your collection.
  • No training/marketing use: we do not use uploaded photos or text for advertising/marketing training or targeted advertising.

4) How We Share Information

We share information only as described below, and only to the minimum extent necessary.

  • With your consent.
  • Service providers (processors) under confidentiality/security obligations, and only for the purposes we instruct.
  • Legal and safety reasons (lawful requests, protection of rights/safety, fraud/security investigations).
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, restructuring), subject to appropriate safeguards.

5) International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

6) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption (in transit and at rest where appropriate), access controls, periodic security reviews/audits, and backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

  • Automated processing uploads: deleted promptly after processing (unless you choose to store results in your collection).

8) Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict/ object to certain processing, and withdraw consent.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Ussila’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict of laws principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
